My name is Clayton Yates and I am the owner of Y Co Carpentry LLC. I have been married to the same amazing women since 2005. We have two kids, both girls. Our Family is rooted in St. George and we love it here. Truly no other place offers a growing city with such amazing people. The people make St. George what it is.

More about Y Co. I decided to take my experience and desire to work with home owners and create a company unique in St.George. Originally the idea was not unique I wanted to make and install barn doors only. Luckily for me the work was not enough to stay busy full time and lead to a new way to expand. I have always noticed a common issue home owners faced. This issue was being able to get all the different needed contractors scheduled and informed to make a remodel happen while remaining on some type of budget, achieving desired results, and in a timely manner. This reality hit home when meeting customers while I would be installing their barn doors. I realized we could complete most of the needed work the home owners needed and decided to expand Y Co.
How it all came to be…
There are few that are experienced in every trade of construction and I realized, although I considered myself very versatile, I by myself could not complete all the things we currently do alone. Armed with that knowledge I set-out to find employees (friends) that are trustworthy and knew what I didn’t. Along with very smart and helpful employees education and working with professionals has filled in the gaps. Still testing was needed so I partially remodeled my own house as well as a few very brave customers. The results surpassed my own goals and we’ve never looked back.

Hiring the right person for the job is one of our motto’s and we have learned that we’re not always the best fit for every job so when that is the case we are always happy to help recommend someone else in the industry. We are currently working towards a general contractor’s licenses. Currently Y Co Carpentry is licensed as a remodel contractor and carpentry contractor as well as a handyman exception. With these three different licenses we are able to complete many task but plan to expand as we continue growing.
